EuroPride 2010 Warsaw

The EuroPride 2010 was held 09-18 July 2010 in Warsaw. It was be the first EuroPride in Eastern Europe ever. Their motto was “Liberty, Equality, Tolerance”. Next year the Europride will be held in Rome.

5th European Gay Police Conference in Vienna

The 30th June 2010 saw the opening of the 5th European Gay Police Association Conference, held this year in Vienna. Based at the Renaissance Marriott Hotel and organised by Ewald Widi, president of GayCops Austria, the conference was attended by 120 delegates from across Europe and beyond.
Belgium and Hungary attended this year for the first time. The conference and the EGPA is now represented by most western European countries except for Finland, Denmark, Greece and Luxembourg. The attendance of our first Eastern European country was a fantastic step forward. The Hungarian delegation was joined by a member of a human rights organization who is supporting the development of a Hungarian gay police network.
Extreme Right Attack Against Budapest Pride

A small group of people wearing extremist symbols assaulted several participants of the 15th Budapest Pride festival. The police arrived at the site in considerable force; however, their procedure was objectionable in several respects. Organisers of Budapest Pride are requesting both the police and ordinary citizens to stand up for the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.
Grampian Police introduces ranbow flag to Police station

As part of our commitment to diversity and equality, Grampian Police is pleased to introduce a universally recognised symbol of this to the Force.
The rainbow colours are acknowledged throughout the world as a sign of equality and diversity and Grampian Police will display a rainbow window sticker in all their offices throughout the Force.
PC Derek Allison, Aberdeenshire Division Diversity Officer said: “It is a great way of advertising the Grampian Police commitment and understanding of equality and diversity.
